Cataract/Refractive Surgery Co-Management
Contact Lenses are medical devices; evaluations are performed in addition to a comprehensive eye exam to ensure a patient is a good candidate for contact lens wear.
Contact lenses are available for patients with astigmatism, and multifocal contacts are also available to eliminate the need for reading glasses.
Contact Lens Evaluation: "Why is there an additional cost?"
These evaluations include the following:
- Determination of brand, measurement and prescription of contact lenses
- Evaluation of current contact lens prescription and determining if changes are indicated (if applicable)
- Insertion and removal training (I&R)* (if applicable)
- Administration and examination of diagnostic lenses
- Ordering and/or dispensing of diagnostic contact lenses
- Follow up visits with the optometrist**
*training fees are additional.
**evaluations are to be completed within 60 days unless otherwise specified by the optometrist.
